Well Met set by Jen DeLuca (Afterlight Exclusive)
Our Afterlight Exclusive set of the Well Met series by Jen DeLuca, featuring Well Met, Well Played, Well Matched and Well Travelled.
Set around a small town in Maryland and the travelling Renaissance Faire that visits every year, these four romances follow different couples to their happily every after brought about through their love for and participation in the Faire.
Well Met: Emily didn't know what to expect when she moved to the small town of Willow Creek for the summer. But it certainly didn't involve signing up to the local Renaissance Faire as a . . . tavern wench. She's not sure how it happened, but it's certainly nothing to do with Simon, the infuriating and inscrutable schoolteacher running the show. And Simon has no time for Emily who refuses to take the Faire seriously. Yet as each inhabits their costumed roles, Simon becomes a different person, and irritation turns into flirtation...
Well Played: Emily's moved to the small Maryland town of Willow Creek for the summer to help her sister recover from an accident. But when teenage niece Caitlin volunteers for the local Renaissance Faire, Emily's suddenly signing up too as a . . . tavern wench. She's not sure how it happened, but it's certainly nothing to do with Simon, the infuriating and inscrutable schoolteacher running the show. The Faire is Simon's family legacy - and he hasn't time for Emily's jokey approach, her take on Shakespeare, or her suggestions to liven things up. Yet as the Faire comes together and each inhabits their costumed roles, he becomes a different person. Is irritation turning to flirtation? Soon, Emily's asking herself: is their mutual attraction real, or just the roles they're playing?
Well Matched: After twelve years in Willow Creek, single mother April feels stuck. Determined to make a change, she asks friend Mitch to help get her house ready for sale. Buff Mitch Malone - best known for the kilt-wearing appearances at the town's Renaissance Faire - agrees to help, but in return for a favour: Will she pretend to be his girlfriend at a family dinner? But when dinner turns into a weekend trip, April wonders if she can fake a relationship for so long... Then summer comes round, Faire returns to Willow Creek, and Mitch's family show up unexpectedly. He needs her to be his fake girlfriend again. Only this time, April wonders just how fake she and Mitch are becoming...
Well Travelled: Attorney Lulu Malone lived to work until the day it all went wrong. So, when her cousin Mitch introduces her to the world of Renaissance Faires, she leaps at the promise of a bit of fun. The only drawback is Dex MacLean: a guitarist with a killer smile . . . and her travelling companion for the summer. Touring with his brothers as The Dueling Kilts, there's a woman for Dex at every Faire. But when Lulu proves indifferent to his plaid charms, he fears he's losing it. Spending days and nights on the road, Lulu and Dex can't help but grow close. But summer can't last forever...
